Financial Beginnings (FB) was founded in 2005 with the mission to empower youth and adults to take control of their financial futures. FB is a national nonprofit consisting of state-based affiliates that provide FB's financial education programming. Current independent affiliates operate in Oregon and Washington, chapter affiliates in California and Nebraska, and programming is provided nationally.
FB delivers financial education programming for students in kindergarten through adulthood. FB provides full-service programming, bringing together curricula rooted in best practices and national standards that are delivered by volunteers, many of whom are financial professionals, to learners at schools and community groups. Prior to the pandemic in 2020, FB served approximately 40,000 in-person learners annually. During the pandemic, FB also added online, self-paced LMS classes to meet the needs of virtual learners. We continue to see the value of this online learning platform and are looking to expand our offerings.
The current state of these unprecedented economic times brings a renewed focus to the importance of empowering individuals to be good stewards of their money and be prepared for hardships. eLearning requires different approaches and skills to delivering in-person education. For eLearning to work effectively, the content of the courses must be high quality and tailored to an interactive eLearning environment.
FB seeks an eLearning Education and Training Director to oversee the adaptation of FB's programs into its existing Learning Management System (LMS), as well as devise a plan for and oversee the creation of online courses for employees, volunteers, and educators. This visionary and strategic individual will bring innovative ideas and a rich background in education and eLearning to the team.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the eLearning Education and Training Director will be responsible for staying abreast of current trends and effective practices in eLearning curriculum design, development, and implementation. The eLearning Education and Training Director will maintain the integrity of FB's programming and have a passion for financial education.
