Director of Philanthropy

Who We Are: Financial Beginnings USA (FBUSA) is a national nonprofit that teaches individuals how to play an active role in their financial well-being. Developing this knowledge increases life opportunities such as home ownership, higher education, and secure retirement, while contributing to the economic empowerment of individuals, families, and our shared communities.

The Financial Beginnings mission is to empower youth and adults to take control of their financial futures. FBUSA fulfills this mission by extending programming to more communities via local, on-the-ground teams. These teams, along with their volunteer networks, deliver our financial education programming that is continually tested, revised, and improved to ensure mission alignment and participant impact. Currently, we have Financial Beginnings teams in Oregon, Washington, California, and Nebraska, with Oregon and Washington as independent affiliates. FBUSA maintains shared program and operation protocols that increase efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring each local team can dedicate the greatest amount of resources to serving their community.

Equity Statement: We recognize a greater need to serve minoritized and marginalized populations stems from a long-rooted history of systemic oppression, which has excluded these populations from having equitable access to financial knowledge and sound resources.

Job Purpose: Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and working closely with the entire Financial Beginnings team, the Director of Philanthropy will manage FBUSA's revenue strategy with individual and family/community foundation partners.
